Can I claim on my private health insurance?

Maybe. Your health fund policy may have an allowance for a Health Management Program or Gym Membership which could qualify for a rebate. Please speak to them for information specific to your policy.

Our classes are not "clinical" - they are run by qualified Pilates and Yoga teachers but are not qualified health professionals, such as physiotherapists or exercise physiologists. Therefore, our classes are not claimable with your health fund for the usual item numbers that you would use for physiotherapy or exercise physiology.

If you have any further queries about this, please speak to us at reception for clarification.

Is it covered by Medicare?

The Medicare EPC visit allocation is for 1-on-1 consultations with a qualified health professional as specified on the form by your GP. Therefore our Pilates and Yoga classes are not covered by the Medicare EPC program.

However, after a consultation with one of our therapists, the therapist may recommend some classes for you to continue your rehabilitation and begin your journey in wellness. Speak to us at reception to see what special offers we may have available.

Are the classes run by physiotherapists?

Our Pilates and Yoga teachers are qualified to teach their respective classes, however they are not qualified health professionals, such as physiotherapists, exercise physiologists, etc.

Therefore, our classes are not claimable with your health fund for the usual item numbers that you would use for physiotherapy or exercise physiology.

Pilates FAQs

What class should I start with?

Open Reformer Pilates classes are perfect for those who are new to Pilates. Our low class numbers make it easy for our instructors to supervise you if you need a bit more help.

What do I need to know for my first class?

What to wear. Bring socks to wear while using the reformer. Wear clothing that allows you to move easily and comfortably. You will be taking your shoes off in the reformer pilates studio.

What to Bring. Your own yoga mat (if you have one otherwise you can hire one) and a drink bottle (if you wish).

Other general information regarding our location and parking can be found by clicking here.

How long are Pilates classes?

Pilates classes run for a total 50 minutes. This includes a warm up and cool down.

What is the difference Open and Active Pilates?

Open Reformer Pilates classes will teach you the foundational movements and give you the body conditioning to participate in higher levels of exercise. There will be more time to rest if you choose to do so. Active classes are more dynamic and challenge the body in all different planes of movement, usually with less time to rest between exercises.

Can I attend class if I have an injury?

It is always best to seek appropriate medical advice prior to attending a class; however we understand that Pilates, when used correctly, can be beneficial for your recovery.

We also have a fully equipped Clinical Pilates room setup and sessions are run in there by our highly trained Physiotherapists Hannah and Katharine. To access this service, please make an appointment to see them.

Our timetabled Reformer Pilates classes are not run by physiotherapists, nor are they clinical. The instructions given by the class teacher is not a substitute for medical advice. Therefore, if you have a condition where medical or allied health attention is needed, please provide an appropriate medical certificate before attending class.

Many of us are managing chronic conditions where we are able to self-manage the condition, including during the Pilates class. In this case, we would still prefer that you provide an appropriate medical certificate before attending class, and also let the instructor know of you conditions so they can offer suggestions on how to modify the class or program for you.

Finally, please note our terms and conditions.

Is Pilates appropriate for my mum or dad?

Absolutely! The gift of health is priceless. Our Open Reformer Pilates classes are great for people who want to try out Pilates.

Even better - you can come with your mum or dad!

Do you have lockers?

We have limited shelving inside the studio and gym areas for personal item storage. Please keep you personal belongings to a minimum and be careful with your valuables.

Please note our terms and conditions regarding Personal Belongings.

Do you have changing rooms?

Are there showers?
